AFRICAN ENSAÏMADA

During the Art Week in Palma, Mallorca 2023, the Food of War Collective orchestrated a Gastroperformance featuring Hernan Barros rowing on a vessel reminiscent of those used by immigrants crossing the Mediterranean from Africa to Spain. Positioned in a prominent square in the city, Barros intermittently showcased the African Ensaimada, a local delicacy reimagined by a group of African women during a workshop organised by Food of War.
